História

A interioridade de S. Martinho das Amoreiras condiciona a paisagem, marcadamente serrana, onde a floresta e sobretudo o eucalipto são nota dominante. Contudo, para além da produção florestal, a atividade económica da freguesia passa pela agricultura, pecuária, apicultura, olivicultura e extração de cortiça.

Pertenceu ao concelho de Ourique, tendo sido anexada ao concelho de Odemira pelo decreto de 24 de outubro de 1855. Em 1884, a freguesia regressou ao concelho de Ourique. A 17 de agosto de 1899, São Martinho das Amoreiras passa definitivamente para Odemira.

A linha-férrea que liga o Algarve a Lisboa passa pela freguesia, localizando-se em Amoreiras-Gare a Estação Amoreiras/Odemira.

Nesta freguesia, um passeio recomendado é à Estação Arqueológica do Pardieiro, uma necrópole da Idade do Ferro, localizada perto da estrada que liga São Martinho à Corte Malhão. De registar também a igreja paroquial de São Martinho das Amoreiras, a Capela de S. Bento, na Aldeia das Amoreiras, os aglomerados urbanos, o sítio da vigia (como miradouro), e o percurso da antiga estrada real.

A 17 de agosto de 1899 a freguesia de São Martinho das Amoreiras passa definitivamente a pertencer ao concelho Odemira.

Economia:

A floresta, com os seus produtos e subprodutos é a principal base da atividade económica. Há ainda a destacar os chamados produtos endógenos, o mel e o medronho. A pecuária extensiva merece também destaque especial.

History

The interior of S. Martinho das Amoreiras conditions the landscape, which is distinctly mountainous, where the forest and especially the eucalyptus are the dominant note. It belonged to the municipality of Ourique, having been annexed to the municipality of Odemira by decree of October 24, 1855. In 1884, the parish returned to the municipality of Ourique. On August 17, 1899, São Martinho das Amoreiras definitively passed to Odemira.

The railway line that connects the Algarve to Lisbon passes through the parish, with the Amoreiras/Odemira Station being located in Amoreiras-Gare.

In this parish, a recommended trip is to the Pardieiro Archaeological Station, an Iron Age necropolis, located close to the road that connects São Martinho to Corte Malhão. Also worth mentioning is the parish church of São Martinho das Amoreiras, the Chapel of S. Geschichte

Das Innere von S. Martinho das Amoreiras prägt die Landschaft, die deutlich bergig ist und in der der Wald und vor allem Eukalyptus die dominierende Note sind. Die Wirtschaftstätigkeit der Gemeinde umfasst jedoch neben der forstwirtschaftlichen Produktion auch Landwirtschaft, Viehzucht, Bienenzucht, Olivenanbau und Korkgewinnung.

Es gehörte zur Gemeinde Ourique und wurde per Dekret vom 24. Oktober 1855 der Gemeinde Odemira angegliedert. 1884 kehrte die Gemeinde zur Gemeinde Ourique zurück. Am 17. August 1899 ging São Martinho das Amoreiras endgültig an Odemira über.

Die Eisenbahnlinie, die die Algarve mit Lissabon verbindet, verläuft durch die Gemeinde. Der Bahnhof Amoreiras/Odemira befindet sich in Amoreiras-Gare.

In dieser Gemeinde empfiehlt sich ein Ausflug zur Archäologischen Station Pardieiro, einer Nekropole aus der Eisenzeit, die sich in der Nähe der Straße befindet, die São Martinho mit Corte Malhão verbindet. Erwähnenswert sind auch die Pfarrkirche São Martinho das Amoreiras, die Kapelle S. Bento in Aldeia das Amoreiras, die städtischen Siedlungen, der Aussichtspunkt (als Aussichtspunkt) und die Route der alten Königsstraße.

Wirtschaft:

Der Wald mit seinen Produkten und Nebenprodukten ist die Hauptgrundlage der Wirtschaftstätigkeit. Es gibt auch die sogenannten körpereigenen Produkte, Honig und Erdbeerbaum. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit verdient auch die Massentierhaltung.
