The Parish of Caminha-Matriz is the village of Caminha itself. Surrounded by natural barriers establishing its boundaries are: the river Miño to the north and west; in the North and East direction the Coura River, which in Caminha, flows into the Minho River, providing the village with spectacular scenery. Considering its built heritage: the historic area with its walled area, with emphasis on the old gate of Viana which is the well-known Clock Tower, the Mother Church and the Church of Misericórdia.
